I write middle grade mysteries and adventures. Here’s what I’m working on now:
MATT MULDOON AND THE CURSE BREAKERS: A REALLY FRIGHTENING SCARY TERRIFYING ADVENTURE - MG adventure
If it weren’t for severe stage fright, thirteen-year-old Matt Muldoon would be content spending 7th grade at Spook Hill Middle School jamming with his tuba-playing best friend Chester Tubbs and working on album art for their non-existent band.
But when a ghost girl with a troubled past begins to stalk Matt, he reluctantly trades in his electric guitar for a magnifying glass. He teams up with Chester and reality TV-obsessed new girl, Grace Wu, to discover the ghost’s secret. What they discover is worse than any case of stage fright: a witch who’s been stealing the souls of Spook Hill children for centuries. And Matt Muldoon is slated to be her next victim.
They must uncover the witch’s identity and figure out how to stop her or Matt won’t make it till the next full moon.
His new plan for 7th grade? Get out alive.
THE SHADOWSCAPES - MG fantasy adventure (work in progress)
Ever since 13-year-old Charlie Price’s mom died, he feels like his world had been split into two distinct parts: Before and After. Before included stargazing and Mathletes and Saturday adventures with his family. After includes a dad who’s completely checked out of life, stale bologna sandwiches and an anger problem Charlie can’t seem to control. It seems like losing Mom meant losing everything else he loved, too.
Thinking that life can’t get any more terrible, he follows his sister, Imogen, down a passageway in the middle of her bedroom. They discover a world remarkably similar to their own with one huge difference – Mom is alive.
But things in this world are not what they seem.
Soon Charlie finds himself racing through a shadowy landscape where he’ll have to face both real monsters and those of his own making. If he doesn’t find out how to defeat the Shadows, he’ll lose himself, Imogen, and the true memory of their mother forever.
